FileMaker Pro 12 and FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced

What's included:

The boxed versions of FileMaker Pro 12 and FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced include the software and product documentation on DVD. Both FileMaker Pro 12 and FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced come with the Installation and New Features Guide and a license key for installation.

The downloadable version contains the product software, an electronic version of the product documentation in PDF format, and a link to an electronic license certificate that contains a license key needed for installation.

FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Pro Advanced display and support the language used by the desktop operating system.

Languages supported: Worldwide English, French, Italian, German, Swedish, Japanese, Dutch, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese.

The clients listed below are supported by FileMaker, Inc. at this time. Other clients may work as expected but they have not been tested for use with FileMaker Pro and are not currently supported.

The clients listed below are supported by FileMaker, Inc. at this time. Other clients may work as expected but they have not been tested for use with FileMaker Pro and are not currently supported.

• Windows: Terminal Services Client (Remote Desktop Connection) version 6.1.7601 (Windows 7) running in Internet Explorer version 9; version 6.0.6001 (Windows XP) or version 6.0.6002 (Windows Vista) running in Internet Explorer version 9
• Mac OS: Remote Desktop Connection for Mac 2.0

Compatibility

FileMaker Pro 12 and FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced databases only work with other FileMaker 12 software. Files from previous versions of FileMaker Pro must be converted to the new file format to be shared with FileMaker Pro 12/Pro 12 Advanced.

Additional requirements (all platforms)

Networking:

TCP/IP: limited to nine simultaneous FileMaker client connections; each client requires a licensed copy of the software; see FileMaker Server 12 for increased capacity. FileMaker Pro 12 supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) addresses, as well as IPv4 addresses.

Any computer accessing FileMaker Pro files over a network will need to have a licensed installation of versions 12 of FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Pro Advanced.

Instant Web Publishing:

A host computer with continuous access to the Internet or intranet via TCP/IP. FileMaker Pro 12/Pro 12 Advanced can manage up to five simultaneous Instant Web Publishing sessions. See FileMaker Server 12 Advanced for increased capacity.

Web browser requirements:

To use a database shared with Instant Web Publishing, Windows web users need Microsoft Internet Explorer version 9.0 or 8.0, Firefox 9.0 or Safari 5.1. On the Mac, web users need Safari 5.1 or Firefox 9.0. These versions are the minimum requirement. This software may also work with later versions certified by FileMaker, Inc.
