WORLDSYNC, INC. SHIPS fmDATAGUARD 1.1
BERKELEY, Calif., Nov. 28, 2007 – WorldSync, Inc. today released fmDataGuard(tm)1.1, with new support for logging Viewed data, and new SQL query and execution capabilities.
Now With Support to Log Viewed Data, fmDataGuard Provides Audit
Technology to Meet Regulatory Compliance, Instant Data Rollback and
Quick Recovery from Crash or Corruption fmDataGuard 1.1 provides those solutions built with FileMaker(R)
Pro softwarewith the technological basis for regulatory audit trail
compliance, logs alldata changes, and allows for instant data
rollback or quick recovery from acrash or corruption. The new View
option for data logging gives the developeranother choice for
control over which, and how, events are logged. Beyond new support for logging Viewed data, fmDataGuard also
introduces a newSQL Execute capability. Developers can now send
dynamic SQL queries and executefunctions directly to FileMaker,
enabling them to include data modifications toremote tables,
constantly update data in layouts, perform data updates
withoutrequiring special relationships, or construct advanced
relationships including"or" criteria. fmDataGuard 1.1 is also a maintenance release with minor,
optional functionenhancements and fixes to reported issues. The
fmDataGuard 1.1 update isavailable free of charge to all registered
fmDataGuard customers from theWorldSync, Inc. web site at:
http://worldsync.com/fmDataGuardDemoPg/. "We recently learned HIPAA mandates can be interpreted
to require logging when arecord is even viewed, irrespective of
modification, printing or some otheraction," explained
Jason Erickson, president and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "So,
weadded the logging capability for viewed data straight away. With
this addition,we're more confident that fmDataGuard
practically meets the technological audittrail regulatory
requirements on its own, while simultaneously making it easierto
recover from a crash or from errors caused by users." "HIPAA encompases a lot of requirements and fmDataGuard
solves the audit trailrequirements of HIPAA really well,"
explained Rich Carlton, senior engineer andCEO, R.C. Consulting,
Inc. "fmDataGuard addresses audit trail issues in a smooth
and seamless way, and in a fairly automatic fashion for the
developer. That leaves the developer open to focus on the remaining
HIPAA compliance requirements related to security, reporting,
backup strategies, and the like. fmDataGuard easily cuts the time
required to address HIPAA in half." fmDataGuard provides
complete audit trail capture, with no scripting, layout
modifications, or custom development required. fmDataGuard can
capture all Add, View, Change and Delete actions to a separate
table, keeping a field-level change history. The resultant
fmDataGuard log meets the audit log requirements for regulatory
mandates such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and
European Union Privacy (Basel II) and Payment Card Industry Data
Security Standards (PCI DSS). In addition, fmDataGuard makes it easy to recover from a crash
or corruption, and to revert undesired data modifications.
fmDataGuard uses the logged changes to empower administrators to
roll back data in a single button click. Similarly, administrators
can roll forward using log data to reconcile the last known good
backup with the current state of the database since that backup,
hence updating the backup, all in one button click. If
needed, data recovery is provided for both the field-level and the
record-level modifications. fmDataGuard also supports logging of
custom events, such as user login and logout, report generation and
much more. Setup of fmDataGuard is an easy three-step process, with
an optional fourth step to capture Viewed records.
