Online Training Leader lynda.com Releases Bento 2 Essential Training Course
Course Includes 66 Videos on Key Bento 2 Concepts
Ventura, CA—June 24th, 2009 lynda.com, the award-winning provider of online training and education for consumers, businesses and schools, today announced the availability of Bento 2 Essential Training, a video course covering the basics of FileMaker’s new personal database application for Mac OS X.
Members of the lynda.com Online Training Library® receive on-demand access to the course’s 66 Bento 2 video tutorials, and non-members can access 10 percent of the tutorials for free by visiting the course page.
Bento is a personal database designed for people with no database experience. The application provides Mac OS X users an organizational hub for everything they might want to collect, track, or connect—such as contacts, tasks, photos, projects, and files.
In Bento 2 Essential Training, database expert and Authorized FileMaker Professional Trainer Cris Ippolite introduces the concept of databases to Bento 2 users and demonstrates techniques for getting data into the application. He describes the features of Bento 2 that allow Mac users to create libraries and Smart Collections for all sorts of information, and he shows how to use calculation and media fields.
Bento 2 Essential Training also covers two notable new features in Bento 2: The Bento for iPhone and iPod Touch App, released in May, and the new Bento Template Exchange that launched just last week. Bento users are able to create custom forms, fields, and layouts and save them as templates that can be shared with other Bento users. Exercise files accompany the course.
"Bento 2 by FileMaker allows you to organize everything from your calenders, address books, email, to spreadsheets, and this new version syncs with Bento for iPhone," says Lynda Weinman, founder of lynda.com. "We are very pleased that FileMaker Certified Developer, Cris Ippolite, has returned to extend his expert teaching on this topic."
