The Ace Group is a full-service printing company and a leader in graphic arts solutions. INFORMATION WEEK: Bento is an 'essential iPhone App for SMBs'
INFORMATION WEEK's Jake Widman surveys top iPhone Apps and recommends Bento for iPhone as an "essential" one for small and medium business: "Bento is a lightweight database designed especially for the Mac, so what better choice for a database on the iPhone? Bento ($4.99) works as a standalone database on the phone, but it also syncs with Bento on the desktop so you can take your data with you. If you modify the data on your phone, including adding new records and fields, they'll be synced back to your home database. Bento comes with 25 iPhone templates (see image) for managing different types of data."
Running a dental business in rural Brazil with an iPhone and Bento 3
Dennis Sellers, MacsimumNews, reports that "Dentist Bia Kunze had a simple idea: If you can’t make it to the dentist, the dentist will come to you. Kunze is a mobile dentist in Brazil ... To manage her practice on the go, she uses Bento for iPhone. 'I was told that things would be easier to manage with the Mac and Bento,' she says. 'I decided to give it a try and found that it’s much easier to use than any other system I’ve encountered. In an afternoon I created a custom database that had everything I needed to keep track of.' At first, Kunze carried her MacBook wherever she went. When Bento for iPhone was released, she left her notebook at home. 'I have a lot to carry, so having everything I need in the iPhone is fantastic,' she says."

The Napa Valley Register surveyed wine industry experts for advice on the best approach to storing your wines and keeping track of what is in your cellar: "Rebecca Chapa, a professional taster and wine educator (www.rebeccachapa.com) said that even though a wine lover may not have ideal cellar conditions, it is more important to avoid drastic ups and downs in temperature than it is to keep a wine storage space at a strict 55 degrees. She also reported, ‘I recently found a cool new program to help you keep track of inventory, it’s called Bento for Filemaker and it has an application for iPhone so you can be sure you aren’t buying something you already have at home.’ "
