Find-Within-a-Find
Do you find you often need to perform a find within an existing found set?
Here's how.

Do you find you often need to perform a find within an existing found set? For example, now that you've found all the Smiths and Smythes in your database; you might want to further refine the search to see which ones have addresses in Ohio. No problem.

  • Enter Find mode.

  • Type "Ohio" into the state field.

  • DO NOT click Find; instead go to the requests menu and select "Constrain Found Set."

  • FileMaker will perform the find only within your existing found set and return the results as the new found set.
