Troi Automatisering releases Troi Text Plug-in 3.0 for FileMaker Pro 8.5

New Universal and cross platform plug-in runs natively in FileMaker Pro 8.5 and lets you parse out incoming XML data in FileMaker Pro and concatenate all text from a field in a related file.

August 14th, 2006, Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands--Troi Automatisering today announced the availability of Troi Text Plug-in 3.0 for FileMaker Pro 8.5.What is Troi Text Plug-in?Troi Text Plug-in is a very powerful tool for for dealing efficiently with text in your FileMaker Pro database. It adds the following functions to FileMaker Pro:- Combine sets from 2 text fields:    

 * get all lines that are the same
     * get all lines that differ
     * and other combinations

- Get (unique) lines and sort words and lines
- Make a text sum from a related file that updates without a script
- Parse XML text into fields


New Features

Troi Text Plug-in 3.0 adds these new functions and features:
- Made compatible with FileMaker Pro 8.5.
- (Mac OS X) Converted to Universal plug-in which runs natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs.
- Updated the User Guide for version 3.0. We also improved the links in the table of contents, so the links now also work with the Preview application of Mac OS X.


SumText now native in FileMaker Pro 8.5

FileMaker Pro 8.5 has a new List(...) function, which is similar to the SumText functionality of Troi Text Plug-in. As this new function is native to FileMaker it is best to use it for all FileMaker Pro 8.5 only deployments. If, however, you deploy your solution on a mixed FileMaker 8.5, 8 and/or 7 platform, the SumText function can still be used.

Troi Text Plug-in allows you to:

- Present portal information horizontally
- Create an index for a book, which is updated automatically
- Find all addresses you want to send an email to, without sending duplicates
- Keep track of your client relations by generating a dynamic history of activities
- Receive client information in XML format and parse it easily into your database

Troi Text Plug-in 3.0 works with FileMaker Pro 7, 8 and 8.5. The plug-in can also be used with runtimes from FileMaker Developer 7, FileMaker Advanced 8 or FileMaker Advanced 8.5. The plug-in is available for Mac OS X 10.3.9 for PowerPC-based Macs or Mac OS X 10.4.5 for Intel-based Macs and Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) or Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

Product updates from earlier versions, bought on or after February 15th, 2005, are FREE: eligible users will be sent a new registration string. Other Troi Plug-ins for FileMaker Pro 8.5 and Intel Macs

FileMaker Pro 8.5 for Mac OS X is a Universal Application and can run natively on PowerPC and Intel Macintoshes. However, when FileMaker is launched on Intel Macs, it only loads Universal plug-ins. It does not load PowerPC plug-ins. Therefore all plug-ins need to be converted to Universal plug-ins. Troi has already released these other new Universal versions:
