FileMaker Showcases K-12 Solutions at Texas Computer Education Association Conference (TCEA)
FileMaker Pro 8.5 database solution for "No Child Left Behind" featured as conference panel
On Thursday, February 8, 4:30 - 5:15 p.m., Greg Walker, Data
Solutions Administrator for Pinellas County Schools in Largo,
Florida, and Bob Barboza, Resource Specialist for the Paramount
Unified School District, Paramount, CA, will co-present
"Stepping Up Student Information Systems to Ensure No
Child Left Behind." The presentation will
describe how the Pinellas County School System has implemented a
FileMaker database system to interact with its Student Information
System (SIS) to analyze individual and grade level performance
results.
Among the innovative K-12 solutions profiled in the FileMaker
booth are "Observations
for Teachers" and "Kid's Talk
Radio":
Observations for Teachers, developed by A Byte of Data
(www.abyteofdata.com), is an easy-to-use assessment tool that
assists teachers to improve their instructor skills
through careful observations student classroom and playground
behaviors. The solution covers key academic areas, classroom
behavior, learning disabilities, English language learners, gifted
students, and students at-risk for failure in the classroom.
Kid's Talk Radio, a FileMaker Pro 8.5 database solution
developed by Super School Software (www.superschoolsoftware.com),
is a motivational math and science learning program that gets kids
excited about learning and at the same time helps schools to
creatively meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals that are part
of the No Child Left Behind program. In building sound effects
studios and radio station programming, students learn study skills,
math, science, reading and writing.
