FileMaker Press Release
FileMaker demonstrates new Bento personal database, plus solutions for student assessment and data analysis, at 2008 Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC)
On Thursday, Jan. 24 from 4:30 to 5:25 p.m., Bill Harman,
technology consultant at Montgomery County Public Schools, will
conduct “School Improvement: Student Assessment &
Data Analysis,” a session showing schools how to use
technology to more easily comply with the requirements of the No
Child Left Behind Act. Harman will show how he uses database
management software to create powerful student data analysis tools
and how other schools can use this approach to help monitor student
achievement. He also will examine how to analyze this information
as an integral part of student achievement plans that include
responsive teaching and learning programs.
FileMaker database software helps schools collect, manage and
report on student and administrative data. More than 10,000 K-12
schools use FileMaker in their data-driven decision-making
processes to achieve greater operational efficiency, comply with
federal and state reporting requirements and track student
performance.
At the FileMaker booth, educators can receive free 30-day trials of
both Bento and FileMaker Pro 9.
Bento is the stylish new personal database software from FileMaker
that is as easy to use as a Mac. Bento features an iTunes-like
interface that puts Address Book, iCal and other Mac information in
one place to make organization easy. More than 140,000 copies of
Bento were downloaded during the two-month public preview. Bento
trial software is also available at http://www.bentotrial.com.
FileMaker also offers the K-12 Education Starter Kit, featuring
five education starter solutions, a K-12 resource guide and a
student assessment white paper. A trial version of FileMaker 9 can
be downloaded at www.filemakertrial.com/k-12.
