FileMaker showcases new Bento personal database software at 2008 Midwest Education Technology Conference

Bento is the stylish new personal database software for Mac

The conference also will feature two sessions focusing on how
schools are using FileMaker Pro, the No. 1-selling database for Mac
OS and Windows, to help ensure No Child Left Behind act compliance
and create powerful student data analysis tools. On Wed., Feb. 6,
from 10:50 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., a session entitled
“Enhancing Student Information Systems to Ensure No Child
Left Behind” will be presented by Greg Walker, data
solutions administrator for Pinellas County Schools in Largo, Fla.
In this case study presentation, Mr. Walker will describe how the
Pinellas County school system implemented a database system to
interact with its Student Information System (SIS) and expedite
analysis of student data for assessing individual and grade-level
performance results.
Bill Harman, technology consultant for Montgomery County Public
Schools, Rockville, Md., will present “School
Improvement: Student Assessment and Data Analysis,” from
2:20 p.m. to 3:10 p.m., on Wed., Feb. 6. The session will
demonstrate how Mr. Harman uses a database administration program
to create powerful student data analysis tools and how other
schools can use this approach to help monitor student achievement.
He will examine how schools have successfully devised methods to
improve student achievement through effective and responsive
teaching and learning programs.FileMaker database software helps
