Session Description This evening session will be your introduction to FileMaker Go for the iPhone and iPad. Accessing your database applications from FileMaker Go is a revolutionary experience. With little to no solution development you can enjoy the mobility of your device paired with a full featured FileMaker client that supports the FileMaker real-time connection model. We will survey the features of FileMaker Go and compare behavior similarities and differences with FileMaker Pro. We'll examine: layouts, scripts, triggers, calculations, portals, and more. Performance and connectivity considerations will also be covered, as well as starting points for developing solutions designed specifically for the iPhone or iPad. Attendees should leave with a solid footing of where they can go... with FileMaker Go.

Session Description This session will dig into the nuts-and-bolts of developing for FileMaker Go. Explore creating compatible layouts, touch on some intermediate topics such as window management, onOpen/onClose scripts, object resizing, and then move into a more advanced discussion of scripting considerations. You'll learn some of the nuances of the platform, review performance considerations, and understand how developing for FileMaker Go differs from FileMaker Pro. You'll leave the session ready to get started with what is a really exciting new product from FileMaker, Inc..

We will explore Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and how developers can take advantage of them to create simplified interface designs and directed workflow. Successful FileMaker developers now need to account for this new platform in their development plans and understanding the differences in behavior in FileMaker Go is a critical skill set. Time will be spent digging through behavior differences of the platforms and opportunities for deployment of remote solutions. Attendees will be provided a free tutorial for teaching experienced FileMaker developers the nuances of FileMaker Go.
