How to Post

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Your login for Biz Talk:

A temporary username and password will be sent to you via email in which you’ll be prompted to change the first time you log in.

  1. How To Post A Message to Biz Talk

    1. Login to Biz Talk at http://biztalk.filemaker.com using your username and password.
    2. Click into the folder in which you wish to post a new discussion.
    3. Click the ‘Add Discussion’ link at the bottom of the page
    4. Fill in the Subject and type your message in the appropriate area and then click ‘Add Discussion.’
  2. To Respond to A Post

    1. Login to Biz Talk at http://biztalk.filemaker.com using your username and password.
    2. Navigate to the folder that contains the message you wish to respond to, and click it to open it up.
    3. Locate the message you wish to respond to and click it to open it up.
    4. Within the selected message, simply click “reply” and post your message.
  3. How To Change Your Username and Password

    1. Login to Biz Talk at http://biztalk.filemaker.com using your username and password.
    2. Click on the 'Preferences' link.
    3. Enter a new username in the 'Your name:' field.
    4. Scroll towards the bottom of the same page and enter a new password in the 'Change Password’ fields (remember that passwords are case-sensitive).
    5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and the click 'Set Preferences' button. Then click on the 'OK' button of the subsequent page.
    6. Your new username and password are now set. Next time you log in to Biz Talk, use your new username and password.
  4. Subscribing yourself to discussion folders

      You are able to subscribe and unsubscribe yourself, at any time, to any discussion folder on Biz Talk. Subscribing to a discussion folder allows you to receive a daily digest of ALL messages posted to that folder AND/OR receive an individual email when a message is posted.

    1. Login to Biz Talk at http://biztalk.filemaker.com using your username and password.
    2. Navigate to the folder you wish to modify / change your subscription to and click it to open it up.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the folder. There you will see either a 'Subscribe' link (if you are not currently subscribed to the discussion folder) or a “Change Subscriptions” link (if you are currently subscribed to the discussion folder.) Click on this link.
    4. On the next screen, select or deselect the options that you wish. When you are done, click ‘OK’ to save the changes to your subscription.
    5. Repeat the above steps for every discussion folder you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe to. If you wish to subscribe or unsubscribe to ALL Biz Talk folders at once, click on the ‘Subscribe’ to All’ or ‘Change Subscriptions’ link located at the top level of the Biz Talk forum (the level where you can see ALL the discussion folders).
  5. Set Your Own Preferences

    Once you have logged in to your account, you'll have the ability to set your own preferences such as day and time you’d like to receive the digest, ability to add your photo, etc.
  6. Tone of Biz Talk

    Think of Biz Talk like you would networking at a business related gathering. We are all professionals. You should correspond with each other as if you were discussing topics with a client, co-worker or staff member. Our fellow members, like you, are very busy and would prefer a short and concise debate that will clarify all types of business related issues.
