Special Highlight as a “Guest Trainer”

We would like to include a "Guest Trainer" feature in future issues of FileMaker News, the FileMaker monthly e-newsletter. This feature would enable you, as FBA Trainers, to introduce yourselves to thousands of FileMaker customers who could benefit from your training materials and services.

The Guest Trainer feature would be composed of a brief FileMaker Pro technical tip provided by the featured Guest Trainer, as well as information on the training services and materials offered by the featured Guest Trainer. The feature would link to the featured Guest Trainer's web site; therefore, we are considering only those trainers who have training resources available from their web site.

If you would like to apply to be a Guest Trainer, please email a two-paragraph message (of around 200 words) to fba@filemaker.com with the subject “Guest Trainer.“ Your first paragraph should be a technical tip or hint, preferably one which is taken from or exemplifies your training courses or training materials, which FileMaker News readers can use immediately. The second paragraph should briefly describe the training services, classes and/or materials you offer, and include background information about you or your business. By submitting your message, please note that you will be granting FileMaker, Inc., the exclusive right to use, copy, modify, publicly display, and distribute your message.

30-Seat Educational Software Grant for Training Center

FBA Trainer level members can apply to copy selected FileMaker, Inc. software for up to 30 classroom machines at a training site. Subject to separate license. Available only to FBA Trainer level members, this program offers additional benefits to Training Centers. If you have a classroom, train end-users, and you are a commercial training company, a school district, an education center, a K-12 and higher education lab, a school of training, download the form for US/Canada/Latin America

After downloading the form, make 2 copies, sign and return BOTH copies (originals required).

Once completed, mail the Software Grant Form to:

FileMaker Authorized Training (US, Canada, Latin America only)

The FileMaker Authorized Training program is designed to train the trainer to teach and deliver the FileMaker Training Series (FTS) for FileMaker 9. The following applies to USA members only - please contact your local FBA administrator for details of the program outside the USA.

Below are the requirements to become a FileMaker Authorized Training company. For questions about requirements and deadlines for the current version FileMaker Training Series for FileMaker 9, please contact fba_manager@filemaker.com. See a list of current FileMaker Authorized Trainers.

• FileMaker Business Alliance Trainer level member in good status
• Submitted two or three customer referrals from students whom have taken your courses (FileMaker will verify these references)
• Submitted your business plan for approval
• Documentation of your training qualifications (including your resume or letter summarizing your experience, certifications, credentials, and related information)
• Completed a FileMaker interview which we will review your training experience, business plan, professionalism, and other program requirements
• You must demonstrate your ability to deliver training in an appropriate training environment
• Passed the Developer Essentials for FileMaker 9 certification exam
• Pay additional training fee ($3000 per company for 2 persons)
• Attend and completed trainer course offered by FMI or its designated trainer, actively participate in the course and complete all the related assignments
• Must sign and return the updated FileMaker Authorized Trainer Agreement (not yet available)

A notification by email was sent on September 13, 2007 to all active FBA Trainer level members about the requirements and due dates.
