Inserting files of any type into fields
You can use a container field to store files of any type, such as PDF files, word processing files, or any other file type that you want to track. When you insert a file, FileMaker Pro displays the file's icon and name in the container field, but not the actual content.
Note   To insert packaged files such as Keynote files into a container field, archive or zip the packaged files.
To insert a file of any type into a container field:
1. In Browse mode, click a container field.
2. Choose Insert menu > File.
3. In the dialog box, choose the file.
If you select Store only a reference to the file, FileMaker Pro doesn't import the file, it only keeps track of where it is on your hard disk, saving disk space.
4. Click Open.
You see the file's icon and name in the container field.
