Updating plug-ins
The Auto Update plug-in works with FileMaker Server software and FileMaker Pro solutions to automatically install or update required or outdated plug-ins. To automatically update a plug-in or support file, the required file must be installed on FileMaker Server and the Auto Update feature must be enabled in FileMaker Pro and on FileMaker Server.
Note   You only need to enable auto-updating of plug-ins if you are using shared files hosted by FileMaker Server and these hosted files use plug-ins that may need to be updated. For more information, contact your system administrator.
To configure your client to automatically install or update plug-ins:
1. Do one of the following:
Windows: choose Edit menu > Preferences.
Mac OS: choose FileMaker Pro menu > Preferences.
2. In the Preferences dialog box, click the Plug-Ins tab.
3. Select the Auto Update checkbox, and click OK.
For more information about automatic updates, see your FileMaker Server or FileMaker Pro documentation.
