| Moving objects on a layout |
| You can move single objects or multiple objects all at once. |
| To move objects: |
| 1. | In Layout mode, select one or more objects that you want to move. |
For more information, see Selecting objects. |
| 2. | Drag the objects to the new position. |

When you move fields or text, text baselines extend horizontally from the object you're dragging to help you align it with other objects. |
To move the objects in a specific or precise way, do one of the following: |
| Notes |
| While you are moving any text or field object (except a container field), a text baseline appears that you can use to align the object with other text or field objects. |
| To more easily move multiple objects, group them first. For details, see Grouping and ungrouping objects. |
| To move a portal and the related fields and objects within it, select both the portal and the objects within it. |
| If you resize an object by mistake (instead of moving it), you can restore its original size by choosing Edit menu > Undo before you do anything else in FileMaker Pro. |
| When you're moving objects, remember that you can also layer, align, and rotate objects to help you achieve the results you want. For more information, see Arranging objects. |
| You can track the movement of objects on the graphic rulers. To show the rulers, choose View menu > Graphic Rulers. For more information, see Using graphic rulers and ruler gridlines. |
