Creating FileMaker Apps

Create custom apps quickly and easily

The FileMaker Platform makes it possible for you to create custom apps that run on any device, and you don't even need programming skills to do it. In this video, you'll get an overview of the process involved in creating custom apps with FileMaker. You'll also start to learn what's possible as you evolve your solution.

One of the easiest ways to create a custom app is by dragging and dropping a spreadsheet onto the FileMaker application. Then you can add layouts to create beautiful user interfaces for users to view and enter data. Create new fields for additional data you want to capture, including photos, documents, and signatures. Apps built on the FileMaker Platform can quickly evolve as the organization's needs grow and change.

You can enable sharing to provide access to others in your workgroup from a browser, mobile device, or computer. Any changes they make to data are instantly available to everyone connected to the app, and any changes you make to the file are also instantly available.

With FileMaker, it's easy to create, share, and run custom applications for your business the way you and your team work.

Why is this important?

  • Seeing the possibilities of a custom app, including charting, mapping, and emails, will help give you ideas for how you can create an app for your organization.
  • When you see a useful and beautiful app built step by step, you'll be inspired to try it yourself, even if you don't have any programming experience.
