    Matt began developing databases in 1983, and in 1989 founded MSN Media to focus on solutions for customers in business and Public Health. He has also been an in-house developer, vertical application developer, and is the author of fmSearchResults and fmRecentRecords. Matt has two FileMaker Business Alliance awards: one for sales of FileMaker licenses, and one for FileMaker Evangelist of the year. He speaks regularly at conferences and hosts the FileMaker Talk podcast. After 30 years as a FileMaker developer, Matt helps clients every day by writing code, and loves every second of it. More >

    Ro Parry has over 16 years of experience in marketing, project management, product management, e-commerce, finance and business analytics. Before joining FileMaker in 2015, she worked at eBay, Yahoo, Rhapsody International, Intuit and other tech firms. Ro helps to coordinate the efforts of various teams within FileMaker's Marketing department as well as with other departments in strategic cross-functional efforts.   • Andrew Paulsen

    FileMaker, Inc.

    A Software Architect at FileMaker, Inc., Andrew has worked closely with the FileMaker engineering team to modernize the product’s user interface. During this process, he has worked in a variety of areas: feature planning and design, usability testing, software design, and implementation. Andrew studied computer engineering and human-computer interaction at the University of Michigan, and joined FileMaker, Inc. after graduation in 2006. Outside of work Andrew is a prolific cook, avid cyclist, and terrible brewer. More >

  • Matt Petrowsky

    ISO Productions, Inc.

    Matt was introduced to FileMaker when he worked at a local camera store in the mid 90's. In 1997, he made the career commitment to use FileMaker as one of his primary development tools. These days, Matt produces a weekly online digital magazine called ISO FileMaker Magazine. He also has created a number of widely-used tools and resources for learning and developing on the FileMaker Platform. He lives in Southern California with his wonderful wife and three children and enjoys listening to all kinds of sci-fi audio books. More >

  • Wesley Powell

    Wesley, software development manager at FileMaker Inc., has worked on a variety of projects during his career with the company. He is most passionate about developing rich user interfaces and improving the user experience. Wesley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Information & Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine and joined FileMaker, Inc. in 2007. He spends his free time monitoring trends in technologies and keeping up on software engineering processes.

  • Susan Prosser

    DBHQ, LLC

    Susan is the president of DBHQ, a FileMaker Pro development firm in the metro Phoenix area. She has co-authored seven best-selling O’Reilly books about FileMaker, the most recent being “FileMaker Pro 14: The Missing Manual”. As a consulting superhero, Susan focuses on how people work and what they need, and then creates custom FileMaker solutions that let them work smarter and faster. She helps clients such as the United States Fish & Wildlife Service, the National Institutes of Health, Wells Fargo Bank, and Banner Health Systems to tame, manage and analyze mountains of data for thousands of end users.   • James Qiu

    James is the Director of Engineering at FileMaker, leading the Server and Web Technology teams. Before he joined FileMaker in 2010, he worked at Oracle Corporation as the Director of Engineering, at Siebel Systems as an architect, and at Sybase as a staff engineer in ASE database engine team.  James is regarded as a domain expert in the field of large system PSR (Performance, Scalability, and Reliability). At Siebel and Oracle, he managed the performance teams and resolved many critical customer issues. More >

  • Mark Richman

    Skeleton Key

    Mark is the president of Skeleton Key, a FileMaker Business Alliance Platinum company based in St. Louis, Missouri. He leads a team of FileMaker Certified developers and trainers as well as an IT-managed services division (Brightsource IT). They provide solution development, consulting, and implementation services for customers in a broad array of markets. Mark has authored several white papers for FileMaker Inc. and is a previous DevCon speaker and webinar presenter. He has four (4) sons, two (2) male dogs and a spouse (Sally) that – thankfully – can dominate all of them (including him) with one (1) hand tied behind her back. More >

  • Ronnie Rios

    A Senior Consulting Engineer at FileMaker, Inc., Ronnie has almost 20 years of experience in consulting and database software solutions development. For more than five of those years he worked at Apple Retail, providing pre- and post-sales technical assistance to customers, developing internal systems and reporting tools, and ultimately growing into technology coordinator and consultant roles with the business team. Ronnie holds a master’s degree in business, several Apple certifications and is also fluent in Spanish. If you can’t find him, he’s probably screaming atop the nearest roller coaster. More >

    Luke is a management consultant specializing in Business Intelligence with qualifications in Engineering, Psychology, and both relational and multidimensional databases. He uses the FileMaker Platform to create management dashboards for small business owners, CEO’s and directors of Fortune 500 companies. At Luke's three previous DevCon sessions the room has been filled to capacity. This quote from an attendee sums up his reception: “This is one of the best sessions I've ever attended.     Katherine is a senior consultant with NightWing Enterprises in Melbourne, Australia. She has presented sessions at multiple FileMaker Developer Conferences and has written a number of papers for FileMaker, Inc., including the FileMaker Sync Guide and tech briefs on FileMaker Go. Prior to joining NightWing Enterprises, Katherine was the principal of Russellware, Inc., a custom FileMaker development company based in Orlando, Florida.     Based in the wilds of Washington state, Sara is a technical project lead for Soliant Consulting. Originally a marketing consultant, she has been a FileMaker developer for 14 years: six as an in-house developer, and the most recent eight with Soliant Consulting. Sara was the lead writer for FileMaker Training Series: Advanced for FileMaker 13 and 14. She is also a certified Force.com developer and a Salesforce.com administrator. If she's not working or family-ing (and yes, "family" in this case is a very active verb), she's buried in a book, playing outside, or ideally buried in a book outside. More >

She has experience in selling technology solutions as well as in managing professional services and training companies. Prior to FileMaker, Inc., Julie was employed by one of Apple’s premiere resellers for 16 years. There she built a professional services and training division which was also a successful FileMaker Business Alliance Platinum Partner. Born in Los Angeles, Julie now lives with her husband and children in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. More >

  • Jon Thatcher

    FileMaker, Inc.

    Jon has been a part of FileMaker Server development from the very beginning, when he helped ship the first version for Macintosh and developed the first version for Windows. He later managed development of the Draco database engine and directed development of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server 7 on the Draco engine. In 2005, Jon returned to working as an engineer, and is now the senior architect for FileMaker Server. He has been at FileMaker/Claris for over 25 years, and before that was a software engineer at Convergent Technologies, Esvel, and Intel. More >

    Rosemary is a Senior Consulting Engineer with FileMaker, Inc., where she works with the Americas Sales team communicating the power of FileMaker and providing technical guidance to customers. She focuses on working closely with FileMaker's enterprise customers. Prior to joining FileMaker, Inc., Rosemary was the publishing technology manager at Harvard University Press and an independent FileMaker developer.     Dara is a highly motivated marketing leader with strong experience in demand generation, brand positioning, strategic marketing, management, crisis communications, digital strategy, and content creation. She currently heads demand generation efforts at FileMaker, Inc. Previously, Dara founded NeuBridges, a technology consulting firm, and drove strategic growth efforts at Goldman Sachs and Apple.     Anand Vaghela joined FileMaker in October 2015 as part of the Product Management team. He has fifteen years of experience as a Product Manager, most recently having worked for NetApp. He is focused on FileMaker Server, working closely with cross-functional teams and representing the voice of the customer.     Peter has been a FileMaker consultant since 1989 and runs Sweden’s leading FileMaker hosting company. He is also a trainer, coach, and speaker for service providers teaching them how to get more clients and earn more money evening if they hate marketing and sales. He works mainly with the concept "Book Yourself Solid” and has been working as a consultant within IT, marketing, sales and business development since 1989.     James has been working in technology since graduating from Johns Hopkins University. He began his career as a database developer for a NASA contractor, and later lived and worked as a consultant in Africa and Latin America. James founded Colibri Solutions in 1998. In addition to client management and engineering for dozens of custom FileMaker solutions, James is the lead architect for Colibri’s RPM® product. This year marks the third time he has presented at DevCon. James lives in New York City with his amazing wife and his Macs, and counts Paris, wine, and Manchester United among his current passions.
