Automate data entry

What if your information is not available in electronic format and you have to do data entry? FileMaker Pro includes many nifty features designed to make data entry faster and more accurate. You can define Value Lists for your frequently used text, number, date, or time values and then format the field to display the values in a pop-up menu, a drop-down list, or as a series of checkboxes or radio buttons. Then turn on Auto-Complete so that FileMaker Pro makes suggestions based on what has been previously entered into the field, or based on values in a Value List.

Looking for more? Add a Calendar Drop-Down to provide a quick way to accurately enter a date and turn on Visual Spell Checking to alert you to spelling errors in text as you type. Or use Field Validation to ensure that data is entered into the field based on parameters you define. Data entry is fast and simple when you use these features.

Store all types of information

Add virtually any type of file or information you want to your database, including contacts and company details, images, movies sounds, Microsoft Office files, Adobe PDF ** files and much more. Even store several terabytes of information in any single database ***. That translates to storing millions of contacts, thousands of images, and details on hundreds of projects. This comes in handy if you use FileMaker Pro to keep track of contracts and you want to store the original Word, PDF or JPEG contracts, or if you are in the movie business and you want to keep the storyboards, film clips and all associated notes.

Connect to SQL

With FileMaker Pro 9, you can bring the information that resides in your organization’s MS SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL databases together in one place with the new SQL connectivity features. Learn more about connecting to External SQL Data Sources.
