FileMaker offers qualified education institutions, organizations, and end users the opportunity to buy education versions of FileMaker products for administrative or educational instruction purposes. Education versions of FileMaker products cannot be used for any commercial purpose.*

Eligible institutions or organizations

Educational institutions and organizations must meet one or more of the following criteria to qualify:

• Accredited public or private universities, colleges, and community colleges that grant degrees requiring at least two years of full-time matriculation**
• Accredited public and private K-12 institutions including charter and virtual schools**
• University hospitals, libraries, research laboratories, and museums wholly-owned and operated by the schools above
• State Departments of Education, administrative offices, boards of education, and county offices of education
• Home schools approved by FileMaker at its sole discretion

Ineligible institutions or organizations

The following institutions or organizations do not qualify:

• Non-accredited schools
• Federal, state, and local government organizations
• Military academies that do not offer an academic degree
• National laboratories
• Nonprofit lobbyist groups
• Institutions using the license for any commercial purpose

* A commercial purpose is any revenue-generating activity beyond the usual and customary activities educational institutions engage in.

** Institution or organization must be either institutionally accredited by an accrediting agency nationally recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or recognized by the Department of Education of the state in which it is located.
