Serving over 7,000 educational professionals across southeastern Pennsylvania, the Chester County Intermediate Unit offers an impressive range of certification, training and instructional resources, along with programs and services to benefit over 85,000 public and non–public school students and their parents. With over 300 programs and services for nearly 100,000 participants, efficient and reliable data management is essential to keep it all running smoothly. IT Director John DeMillion knows from experience that FileMaker Pro makes that happen. "We've used FileMaker Pro since before it was called that," he declares. "And since then we've used every version of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server to great effect, as the primary database in our organization."

With internal FileMaker Pro development essential to keeping up with the demand for new applications, John's enthused about the latest version of the software, especially the new Web Viewer function. "We need to interface with some critical web–based data to communicate with various state and federal agencies," he notes. "For example, we use FileMaker Pro as a data warehouse for an Executive Dashboard project that we're currently developing. With the addition of the Web Viewer, we'll be able to easily include web–based data in the warehouse for inclusion in the dashboard. FileMaker Pro 8.5 is a great step forward in the evolution of the product."
