Sanders built a Freight Management System (FMS) in FileMaker Pro to keep track of every, load, location, carrier, customer, bill and invoice. "My FileMaker Pro-based system has the same functionality as standalone software packages for the trucking industry costing upwards of $10,000. What is crazy about it is that I'm not a programmer, I'm a freight broker!" he says. "And because I built it, I can change it at will. I believe this gives us a competitive advantage."
The charts and graphs are great for me! I no longer have to export my sales data to a spreadsheet to get a visual on where I am for the month. The time I save from not having to mess with spreadsheets is a huge bonus.
Because Sanders runs his business on FileMaker Pro, he's understandably excited about new functionality in new FileMaker Pro 11 software. "Quick Find is the bomb," he says. "It is often the fastest way to get where I want to go in a data set. And I've definitely seen that Quick Find allows new people to get up and running in FileMaker Pro 11 with less coaching."
He has also eagerly adopted the new charting and reporting features. "The charts and graphs are great for me! I no longer have to export my sales data to a spreadsheet to get a visual on where I am for the month," says Sanders. "The time I save from not having to mess with spreadsheets is a huge bonus."
