Developer of medical monitoring application trusts essential tracking functions to FileMaker Pro 8.5

Helping physicians spot and track potential risks to their patients – the Advanced Warning and Containment® application, or AWAC®, is a powerful computer system from Georgia-based Innovative Health Strategies – and AWAC® relies on the power of FileMaker Pro. "IHS uses FileMaker Pro to track patient cases, contacts, and to bill for services," explains in-house FileMaker Pro developer Jason Boggs.
With experience in developing proprietary FileMaker Pro solutions dating all the way back to version 2, IHS is looking forward to deploying the powerful new functionality of FileMaker Pro 8.5 – especially the new Web Viewer. "I see a host of future projects that’ll improve productivity in many areas," Jason anticipates, "More than likely we’ll use the Web Viewer for mapping patient addresses via Google Maps, complete with directions and proximity to available medical facilities. This will help us maintain a better overview of available facilities within the construct of patients’ medical needs and will provide patients with better services. The Web Viewer makes this possible with little effort and without manually keying in the information."
As a developer, Jason’s also enthusiastic about scripting improvements in FileMaker Pro 8.5. "The Go to Object function will be a great feature," he predicts, "because it gives the developer the ability to better control a user’s movements through a business process. With the Set Web View system and Go to Object, we expect improved productivity and more control over user interaction within our system."
