What's included

FileMaker Server 14 is available only as an electronic download. It includes product software and a link to an electronic license certificate that contains a license key needed for installation. Product documentation is available online in PDF format.

Languages supported: Worldwide English, French, Italian, German, Swedish, and Japanese.


FileMaker Server 14 supports the following clients: FileMaker Pro 14, FileMaker Pro 14 Advanced, FileMaker Pro 13, FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced, FileMaker Pro 12, FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced, FileMaker Go 14, FileMaker Go 13, and FileMaker WebDirect.

The latest security updates must be applied to FileMaker Pro 13, FileMaker Pro 12, and FileMaker Go 13 before connecting to FileMaker Server 14. Learn more

Note: Windows 7, OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Mountain Lion Server, and OS X El Capitan are no longer supported. Please update your operating system before upgrading to FileMaker Server 14.

Standby server

When running standby server, there must be two server machines with identical configurations. Both machines must meet or exceed the recommended hardware requirements specified above — not the minimum hardware requirements. Standby server must be deployed on the same LAN as the primary server.

Limitations on mobile browsers
The following limitations apply when running FileMaker WebDirect on mobile browsers:

  • - Container fields support viewing of content only.  Inserting, exporting, and editing of container data is not supported.
  • - Some dialog boxes are not touch optimized

Concurrent connections

FileMaker WebDirect is accessed using concurrent connections in FileMaker Server 14. Each web browser window or tab counts as one connection. One concurrent connection comes with FileMaker Server 14. Additional connections can be purchased through the FileMaker Server Admin Console or the FileMaker Store. Learn more about concurrent connections.

Admin Console

FileMaker Server Admin Console is accessed through a web browser from a machine that has network access to FileMaker Server 14. Supported web browsers include:

These versions are the minimum requirements. FileMaker Server Admin Console may also work with later browser versions certified by FileMaker, Inc..

Supports AES-256 encryption of data at rest when the solution files are encrypted by FileMaker Pro 14 Advanced. Sharing, reading from, and writing to AES-256 encrypted files is supported by all products in the FileMaker 14 Platform.

Supports SSL with AES-256 encryption of data in transit when the solution files are hosted with FileMaker Server 14.

Supports third party Certificate Authority (CA) SSL certificates to prevent Man in the Middle (MitM) attacks when the solution files are hosted with FileMaker Server 14.
