Build-On Tutorial:

iPad Attachments

Job Tracking Template: iPad Attachments

Tutorial summary

In this Build-On you will extend your app so mobile users can log in from an iPad and easily add attachments to tasks, so they can better document the work they're doing on-site. You'll build them an interface to help choose the task they're working on, then make the most of native iOS functionality to add photos, videos, or even signatures to the task. You'll also add to the desktop side, so all of your users can see the attachments, and even add their own.

What to expect

When you’re done with this Build-On, your team will be able to:

  • Open the app from the iPad
  • Select their current task from a list, filtering based on job and task
  • Use their iPad to take photos or videos, or capture a signature, then attach that to the task they’re working on
  • Attach other documents to tasks
  • See, download, and add attachments from the desktop
